This suicide prevention workshop is for professionals working with children and young people aged 5-14 years old.

The ASK workshop exists to equip professionals with the awareness, knowledge and understanding that children can be at risk for suicide, what to look out for and how to assess risk accurately to connect children to support and prevent suicide behaviour.

Developed to compliment the safety planning taught in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), The ASK workshop adds layers specifically relating to children aged 5-14 years old.

In 2022, over 6’500 individuals died by suicide in the UK and worldwide suicide is a leading cause of children and young people.  Although suicides under 10 years of age go unreported in the UK, they can and do happen.

Testimonials & feedback

The different aspects of engagement throughout the workshop complimented my learning style. Izzy and Alice have been phenomenal, I’ve learnt so much in the last few days. The practical aspects and handouts from the training will be invaluable to assist in my role. Thanks both, it was really lovely to meet you and hopefully I’ll be back for further training!
